The Rothen Group, our regular client, undertook repairs on several sections of a deteriorating washwall along the Caldon Canal, with SoluForm delivering the perfect solution.
Over time, the wall had been compromised by boat impacts and prop wash, leading to the dislodgement of large masonry and the subsequent weakening of the bank. To address this, The Rothen Group deployed their 40ft crane boat to remove the coping stones situated above the damaged masonry. This enabled them to access the breach and fill the voids with concrete sandbags, which were conveniently transported to the site using one of there hoppers.
A solution was needed to restore the riverbank, protect it from future damage, and fill the voids cost-effectively. To achieve this, SoluForm’s 32N bagwork was used. Allowing a skilled team to place the bagwork by hand with efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
A total of 10 voids were effectively repaired. This solution provided the client with assurance in a strong, resilient, and eco-friendly structure, ensuring the long-term stability of the void protection.
