Our client required a reliable, low-impact solution to manage the water from an existing developed area, improving and safely managing water flow across the site while maintaining stability around the culvert and adjacent embankments.
SoluForm’s concrete bagwork was used to construct a robust culvert with 2 headwalls, providing essential stability and support while safely diverting water as required for the project. Each prefilled bag weighs approximately 20kg before hydration, allowing single-person handling and easy transportation to the installation area. Purpose-designed U-shaped 8mm galvanised pins, installed within the rows of bagwork, added further durability and enhanced overall stability. Together, these features supported a controlled, efficient and timely installation.
SoluForm Above Water concrete bagwork was selected as the most appropriate solution for reinforcing the embankments and carrying out the culvert works, delivering dependable structural performance together with strong environmental credentials to meet the project’s specific requirements. The use of prefilled Above Water concrete bagwork with a soluble liner allowed for rapid, straightforward installation with minimal disturbance on site. This approach provides consistent control of water flows and long-term structural stability, underpinning ongoing protection strategies for drainage channels and embankments.
